I have been a sebastopol resident for 15 years. I speak for myself and not any organizations. I am a retired elementary educator and I have 2 grandchildren in Sebastopol schools. Also , I am a member of the Sebastopol Village (a local non profit focused on aging in place).
I'm writing to ask the Sebastopol Planning Commission to deny a use permit for Grocery Outlet's planned move into the former Rite-Aid location. Grocery Outlet in the heart of Sebastopol is contrary to the feel of our downtown area. This is a great opportunity to brainstorm and plan what the heart of Sebastopol really needs right now.
I am not apposed to Grocery Outlet in Sebastopol, even though we have 5 National and local grocery stores. I object to the proposed location. It is wrong for downtown Sebastopol. Please deny the application.
