Subject: please enforce cease and desist order for A&M BBQ Dear Mayor McLewis and City Council,
I am writing to add my voice to the neighborhood request that you enforce the cease and desist order to A&M BBQ. I attended the previous city council meeting but wasn't able to speak during the public comment period, and I am not able to attend this week's meeting.
However, I was very much part of the background discussion when Sebastopol's wood smoke ordinance was first passed, and am appalled that you are allowing this company to flagrantly defy not only the spirit of the ordinance (meant to allow backyard BBQs only and not large commercial enterprises) but also to lie and use their smoker daily rather than the four days per week they agreed to.
Please enforce the order now while they relocate further away from a residential neighborhood. The health of our neighborhood should not be compromised for the sake of tax revenue. I hope city staff is able to force immediate cessation of commercial smoker operations at A&M BBQ at the 495 South Main St location.
