To the Sebastopol City Council,
I am writing in support of A&M Barbecue and its continued presence in our community. A&M has become much more than a local small business. It serves residents of Sebastopol while also attracting customers from surrounding towns, the Bay Area, and even out-of-state visitors. The number of people who travel here to support A&M is remarkable, and many of those visitors also support other local businesses throughout Sebastopol, bringing additional economic benefits to our community.
Regarding concerns about smoke, A&M is not a large commercial operation and should not be held to the same standards that require expensive commercial filtration systems. At the same time, they have shown a willingness to work with the city and explore reasonable solutions while continuing to provide a valued service to the community.
I hope the city and A&M can continue working together to reach an agreement that allows this beloved small business to remain in Sebastopol and continue serving residents and visitors for years to come.
