Subject: In support of A+M BBQ staying @ current location

Dear Members of City Council,

Thank you for your service. My husband, two children and I live at , in the block behind A+M BBQ and in front of Eleanor Avenue. We write first to request that if there is any way to allow them to stay at their current location, to please work to keep them there. Please change the definition of "industrial smokers" allowing them to stay. Short of that, please give them as much time as they need to find a new location and to continue to support them in finding a location in Sebastopol.

We have lived in our home for over 14 years and this is the first time in our memory that such a significant small business has occupied that space. Their food is excellent. Their service is superior. My children and I walk past them most mornings as we walk to SunRidge and appreciate their warm greetings. They are part of our neighborhood! It is such a joy to have such a lovely and attractive business in that space and so close to our home. I cannot get enough of reading articles praising their food and attracting people from across the county and beyond. People are flocking to Sebastopol for their product and spending their money in our town. What a shame (and embarrassment) it would be to lose them.

In terms of air quality, we can sometimes smell the BBQ smoke early in the mornings. I have sensed no change in the air quality. As a lifelong asthmatic, I am very sensitive to smoke and air quality and have perceived no diƯerence from the previous 14 years we have lived here. If the sensors show a six year history of high readings in the morning, the data is clear that this morning spike is not caused by the barbeques as they have not been here six years.

We hope you will do everything in your power to help them stay in Sebastopol and in this location.

Thank you,

Christy Laborda Harris + Kai Harris
