Subject: Peacetown Begins June 3rd
Dear Mayor Jill, Sandra, Phill, Neysa and Stephen,
We are happy and excited to be kicking off our 14th Annual Peacetown Summer Concert Series at Ives Park from 5:00-8:00pm every Wednesday for 15 weeks, beginning next Wednesday June 3rd, with Poor Man's Whiskey. Our Summer Concert Series got voted Best Outdoor Festival along with Bottlerock in Napa. The success has grown over the years but the vibes remain the same, as local folks and visitors dance to the music, commune with neighbors and generally enjoy the beautiful atmosphere under the redwood trees at Ives Park.
You will probably receive complaints from neighbors who do not enjoy how their parking is impacted, and the sounds of music from the park. But you will probably not be getting letters from the 1000+ folks that show up to enjoy the free music and good vibes of Peacetown. We have been working closely with Public works to keep volumes at the acceptable level, but sound, being what it is, will permeate in all directions, without regards to rules.
Besides great music every week from two bands, we also feature two Fine Artists each week from Arts Workshop AWS. Peacetown intends to bring Love, Peace and Joy to our Community through Music and Art. We appreciate your colleague, Sandra Mauer, for helping facilitate that offering.
Please feel free to contact me directly with any concerns you may have. We will be sending a letter to Public Works requesting a fee reduction from the rental. In granting our request, you will be making City of Sebastopol a Full Sponsor of the event, and we will acknowledge you as such, in all our printed material and ads. We appreciate the City of Sebastopol's support since the very beginning, and please know that the Peacetown Summer Concert Series brings tourists, prosperity and Good Vibes to our community every week.
