Council Team,
Thanks for coming together and passing the downtown core proposal! I'm really excited about the improvements for walking, cycling and shopping in downtown. Looking forward to a less constrained walk taking the kids from ice cream to the square.
Increased walkability, bike ability and programming IN the streets will bring attention to those businesses and sales - increasing the revenue for the city in order to address our structural deficit.
I am in San Diego working for a month and I have rented a bicycle instead of a car. San Diego has made huge progress since I lived here 20+ years ago and it shows. The streets have more people, feel more vibrant and in many parts new investment has inevitably increased the tax base through density. I believe the downtown core project is the start of the same for Sebastopol.
Please consider me as a resource as this project moves forward - I am willing to volunteer my time to the city to help this get oƯ the ground and across the line!
Thanks!!!!
Gavin
