Subject: A&M BBQ
Dear City Council Members:
We are Sebastopol residents writing about the complaints against A&M BBQ. I am saddened to see local residents using their voice to try to shut down or thwart a small local minority-owned business— something Sebastopol needs more of, not less.
A&M BBQ is an incredible restaurant, receiving accolades from all over the county and beyond. We are lucky to have this restaurant in our mix and at a time when our local amazing restaurants like Campanella cannot make it, we should be uplifting these businesses. It benefits our quality of life as residents and also benefits tourism and visitors. Both are essential to a vibrant community in this small town.
I appreciate that having a restaurant near your residence can add certain permanent odors to your daily experience. I lived near a BBQ restaurant for 10 years in San Francisco; that's what living in a downtown area is like. The owners are trying to find a better location for their restaurant. How about we work as a team to find that space? There are certainly plenty of empty opportunities right in Sebastopol.
Please support our small business owners - they need us now more than ever.
