Subject: Please help keep A & M BBQ in Sebastopol!!!
Dear Council Member Hinton, Council Member Zollman, Mayor McLewis, Vice Mayor Maurer, and Council Member Carter,
My name is May Koski. My husband and I live in Occidental, CA but do the majority of our shopping, medical appointments, enjoying entertainment, and other errands such as going to the library in Sebastopol. Our daughter and grandson live in Sebastopol, and our grandson attends SunRidge Elementary School.
We are BIG fans of the A & M BBQ on Main Street and have been very upset to hear about the complaints that some neighbors of the BBQ have made about the smoke from the establishment. We love the delicious food made at A & BBQ at their location and also at local celebrations such as the Gravenstein Apple Fair. We always enjoy a warm welcome and good customer service from the staƯ at A & M. My opinion is that A & M BBQ is exactly the type of small locally owned business that Sebastopol wants. PLEASE HELP THEM!! And let them know how important they are to our community and the surrounding communities.
We DO NOT want this excellent business to leave Sebastopol, and are confident that you can help find a solution to the situation.
If this restaurant is forced to leave Sebastopol due to resident-generated complaints from people who have CHOSEN to live near the center center not far from Main Street and Petaluma Avenue, which restaurants or other businesses will be the next to go? Music at HopMonk or other local establishments? Soccer and celebrations at the local parks? Farmers Market? Other restaurants that produce scents that a few neighbors do not like? Noise at the Humane Society or at veterinarians oƯices? These are the smells and sounds of a vibrant community.
Please work hard to let A & M BBQ remain happily and productively BBQing and feeding happy customers in Sebastopol for years to come.
