Hello Council Members,
We are writing to voice support for A&M BBQ. We understand there have been some complaints from neighbors about smoke. We live one block away from their business and sleep with all our windows open year round. We can see their business from our bedroom window. While we occasionally smell smoke in the morning, it is only for a very limited time and never very strong, so we were surprised to hear of complaints. This business is valuable in so ways; They make unique products, cook some of the best food in town and oƯer it at reasonable prices. A&M also attracts people to a part of South Main Street that is seldom activated, so it may attract more businesses to that part of downtown and encourage more exploration of our city.
While I sympathize with people with health issues, I want to encourage the City to work with A&M to come to a solution that not only allows them to continue but supports their success.
