Hello,
My name is Julie Jehly and I live in Rohnert Park.
I am regularly in Sebastopol to shop and dine downtown and at the Barlow. I also come to town for Peacetown Concerts – and to have some of the best BBQ ever at A&M BBQ.
Reading the PD stories and comments, I understand the plight of area residents and the smoke. I live near the Cotati SMART station, and while SMART was not here when I bought my home, freight trains were. Their presence and noise were part of the package. This analogy can be applied to folks who live near downtown and commercial areas of Sebastopol. A&M BBQ might not have been there, but downtown Sebastopol was.
I also understand the plight of A&M BBQ trying to run a business that has rapidly grown beyond its location, meet the demands of its growing list of customers, and be a good neighbor.
So with this email, I urge the City Council to have patience and grace as A&M BBQ seeks a solution – be that diƯerent smokers or a new location. Please do not implement decisions that will force A&M BBQ to close.
