Dear Council Members,
Rather shocked you limited the time of the this VERY important issue that has not yet been adequately looked into.
How about spending More time on it ( good for that time study) to get to some real answers and discover what the heck went wrong, when and who is/was responsible. You still have staff that will remember how the decisions got made ( city fiscal department, current city manager).
And in the face of this, you passed a “big beautiful budget” that is already short by a lot( dream land?)and, did I get this right, you voted on it last time instead of waiting until the next meeting to hear what staff could do in the way of cuts. How about starting with an “x" percentage cut for a start and a freeze on administrative salaries which seem to feature prominently in the water/sewer scandal that is emerging? As a directive.
And the incorporation of the
costs of the fraudulent water/sewer grossly inaccurate cost allocation system, and the re-opening of our library that we are also paying additional taxes for to the county so we can all enjoy it.
Sebastopol City Council, it is time to be fiscally responsible and NONE of this shows that you are. We need leaders who stop with the “what will make downtown business better" like initiating a HUGE plan to have the city go back (again) to a 2 way street system and pie in the sky new projects and fix what is already broken. Like our streets.
And fixing the cost allocation system which is also badly broken and fraudulently driving up the costs for all our businesses as well as for ALL the citizens who elected you. Get on it and get us some answers and get real.
