I believe that adding a provision to prohibit sitting or lying on public sidewalks is ill considered. Given that the library, where some folks might find a place to sit and rest, is currently closed, I believe this proposal is particularly poorly timed. I personally find it more annoying to have to negotiate around a group of people having a “little chat” in the middle of the walkway than I do coming upon an individual sitting on the sidewalk typically tucked up against the side of a building. “There but for fortune . . . . “ Doug Yule
