Dear Mayor and Members of the Sebastopol City Council,
I have lived in the City of Sebastopol since 2015 and I plan to "age in place" in my home. I am unavailable to attend the September 15" city council meeting, therefore; I am submitting this letter to you.
I care deeply about ensuring that Sebastopol has community spaces and services needed to support residents of all ages. It is abundantly clear that the present situation is lacking in critical areas for older adults. I strongly agree with the Sebastopol Area Senior Center's Board of Directors as well as many community leaders that the O Reilly complex represents the most viable option currently available for a shared civic space and a multi-use community hub.
The O'Reilly property offers the potential to bring together a range of community services in one location while creating a welcoming, accessible space that can serve all Sebastopol residents now and well into the future. Pursuing an alternative site would make a comparable community hub considerably much more difficult to achieve.
I respectfully urge you to continue pursuing the O'Reilly property as I believe this O'Reilly complex presents a rare opportunity to create a lasting civic and community asset for Sebastopol.
Please continue all efforts to move this vital project forward. Don't forfeit this golden opportunity available with the O'Reilly complex that's currently available for our community, thank you.
