To the Sebastopol City Council,
My name is Alexandria Webber, and I am an employee at A&M Barbecue. I’m writing because I want to share my personal experience and make sure the employees of A&M are also heard as the City considers the situation involving the business.
I completely support Kris, the owner of A&M Barbecue, and I truly applaud the way he has handled everything. He has made it very clear that he does not want to negatively affect his neighbors, and I have watched him recognize that changes are needed and do his best to make them for his employees and the community.
That is one of the reasons I consider him one of the best bosses I’ve had. He cares about his employees and genuinely wants to do the right thing.
I also want to share my own experience. I have severe asthma, so I know how sensitive I can be to things that affect my breathing. Everyone is different, but working at A&M has been nothing but accommodating for me. I have not experienced additional breathing problems while working there and serving the community. The worst thing I can honestly say is that I go home smelling like amazing barbecue.
I appreciate the City Council and everyone involved for taking the time to work through this situation with A&M. I truly believe that everyone involved ultimately wants what is best for the community. I just hope we can remember that we are all neighbors and that working together is better than continuing to fight one another.
A&M feeds regular people every day—local grocery store employees, sheriffs, firefighters, families, and people simply looking for a good meal. Kris just wants to give people good food. He never set out to be a problem; he set out to build something that could serve people and give his employees a place to work.
I hope we can move forward with some understanding for everyone involved. Thank you for taking the time to hear from me and consider my perspective.
Sincerely,
Alexandria Webber
