City Council Members:
As a concerned resident in the vicinity of 8100 Valentine Avenue, I would like to point out a “Safety” concern. It’s my understanding the approved build will now go to you for additional approval. Our Planning Commission accepted a waiver to the setback at this build site, a setback rule put in place to protect public safety, ensure privacy, and maintain community aesthetics. During the meeting, the Planning Commission stated everything was reviewed and approved because there are no safety issues to the public. Having the setback waived is a safety issue to the public. People are not against additional housing; they would like it done in a manner that represents the integrity and vision of Sebastopol.
Can you please review the setback of this project. It is a safety issue for defensible space, and therewas no confirmation fromthefiredepartment, andpolice department signingoffon the waived setback.
Wework hard daily to affordSebastopol, a wonderfulsmall community. These people moved to Sebastopol and into a beautiful community unknowing this type of structure would change their peaceful world. During this meeting, their concerns were not heard. You represent the people of Sebastopol,soI’mhopingyou will listen. Please take this safety issueseriously. Thankyou for your consideration to this matter.
Kind Regards,
Leanne Sinigiani
