Hello,
I’m writing to express my strong support for having a Grocery Outlet in the former Rite Aid location. I’ve shopped other GO locations and I found them all to be less expensive, have a diverse selection of grocery items and friendly staff.

Additionally, I appreciate that they’re locally owned and operated and provide sponsorships and donations in the areas they operate. Each location I’ve shopped also has a designated senior day twice a month in which groceries are an additional 10% off. Having them in the community would also provide jobs for local people.

Will I only shop at Grocery Outlet if they open in Sebastopol? Absolutely not!
Fircrest is less than a mile from my home and I shop there the most. I’m a huge fan of their deli sandwiches and their meat and fish selection is exceptional. Grocery Outlet, on the other hand, has a limited selection of meat and seafood.

Additionally, I know I can buy my all-time favorite locally made potato salad (Pedroni’s) at Fircrest and at Pacific Market. I love a certain brand of yogurt with passionfruit at Whole Foods. Andy’s Produce is another go to for exceptional fruits and vegetables and they have an excellent cheese and spice section.

And, of course, when I want to save on gas, and buy bulk toilet paper and paper towels, I make the trek to Costco!
Case in point: Different stores fill different culinary objectives, budgets and tastebuds! It’s great to have choices … especially in today’s difficult economy. And, it is expensive to live in Sonoma County — especially for retired seniors like me. Having choices is not a bad thing.

My mother, brother and sister-in-law also support having a Grocery Outlet in Sebastopol. And, just like me, they will continue to shop at different stores when Grocery Outlet opens.

Thank you,
Lisa Howard
