Dear Senior Center administrators,
I taught for the Senior Center for many years and am familiar with the need for improved class and other office space.
Given the current state of Sebastopol City realty options I'm writing you to strongly urge the Senior Center and Council to look into and proceed on acquiring the available building right next door to you. It's available and has room to accommodate the additional classroom and office space needs.
The wish for one building site for all of the City's services is showing to be unrealistic and moving individual or paired services into Downtown locations is a positive direction for our community.
Another option for the Senior Center would be to have the City move it into the also currently vacant previous RITE AIDE BUILDING. There is strong community resistance to allowing another Chain Store into downtown, especially one jeopardizing our many important and long established local groceries. The upstairs of this available building could house additional city services.
Please give these two available options for Senior Center expansion serious appraisal. Thank you for your great community service.
With appreciation,
Marghe Mills-Thysen
