RESOLUTION NO. 2022-03-6674
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SIGNAL HILL, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE DEDICATION OF REAL PROPERTY FOR ADDITIONAL PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR ALLEY PURPOSES AT ASSESSOR PARCEL NUMBER 7216-017-004 WHEREAS, the Community Development Director received a request to develop an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) at residential property located at Assessor Parcel Number (APN) 7216-017-004; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 65852.2(a)(D)(iii), the development project is subject to a lot merger in order to construct an ADU; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Signal Hill Municipal Code Section 21.28.020, as a condition of approval of a lot merger, the City may require a property owner to dedicate a public right-of-way for alley purposes; and WHEREAS, as a condition of approval of the lot merger at APN 7216-017-004, the City requires property owner to dedicate a public right-of-way for alley purposes along the westerly property line of APN 7216-017-004 in accordance with the City’s Official Plan Lines Map; and WHEREAS, the property owner is offering for acceptance, additional public right-of-way to be used for alley purposes; and WHEREAS, the California Streets and Highways Code Section 1806(b) requires the City to accept by resolution the dedication of any real property to be used for alley purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that certain real property located at 1991 Junipero Avenue, Signal Hill, CA 90755, legally described in Exhibit A and depicted in Exhibit B attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, be accepted for alley purposes in accordance with the California Streets and Highways Code Section 1806(b), and said property is located in the City of Signal Hill in the County of Los Angeles, State of California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk in the City of Signal Hill be instructed to record a certified copy of this Resolution and that the property owner be instructed to record an executed grant deed of property legally described in Exhibit A in the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s office and to provide a certified copy of the recording to the Public Works Department.
