Dear Mayor and City Council,
My name is Ben Kitchens. I am a Boy Scout with Troop 65 in Lakewood. I live in Signal Hill. I am planning my Eagle Project, and I would like to do it in the Signal Hill Community Garden. I met with Community Services staff and my advisor, and we created a list of things that can be done to help the garden such as weed the pathways, re-stain some wood, clean out the sheds, weed any vacant plots, put numbers back on the plots, clean out the flower beds in the front and back and I would like to build a Little Library in the front flower bed that anyone can use and stock it with gardening books and seed packets. I have been told that I need City Council permission for this. I am requesting that a member of the council ask during New Business to place discussion of this being an agenda item on the next agenda, so that I can move forward with my project.
