A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SIGNAL HILL, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING WORK TO BE COMPLETED IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE RECORD DRAWINGS AND STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS DEMOLITION AND IMPROVEMENT FOR THE 1905/1907 21ST STREET AND RESTROOM REMOVAL IMPROVEMENT (PROJECT NO. 90.21008) IN THE CITY OF SIGNAL HILL, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACT ENTERED INTO BETWEEN GREEN GIANT LANDSCAPE, INC. AND THE CITY OF SIGNAL HILL WHEREAS, on January 8, 2019, the City Council approved an agreement to purchase real property at 1905/1907 21st Street in an effort to advance the goals of the Parks and recreation Master Plan which identified the need to further upgrade and enlarge Signal Hill Park; and WHEAREAS, on April 17, 2019, the Parks and Recreation Commission recommended the demolition of the nearby non-operational Spud Field restroom facility due to long-standing nuisance issues with litter accumulation, vandalism, and general disrepair; and WHEAREAS, due to its proximity to the 1905/1907 21st Street site and the similar nature of work required, the restroom demolition was included in the scope of the two-home demolition project; and WHEREAS, on October 12, 2021, the City Council authorized the execution of a Public Works Agreement with Green Giant Landscape, Inc. (Green Giant) for the Project; and WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has submitted its approval of the final quantities and cost figures, and the scope of work under Green Giant’s task order is deemed complete.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Signal Hill, California, does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. That work required to be completed by Green Giant has been completed for the 1905/1907 21st Street and Restroom Removal Improvement (Project No. 90.21008) and that the total cost of said work is in the amount of $349,151.00.
Section 2. That the work is hereby accepted and approved.
Section 3. It is further ordered that a Notice of Completion (Exhibit A) be filed, on behalf of the Agency, in the Office of the County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles within ten (10) days of the date of this resolution.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the contract heretofore awarded by the Signal Hill City Council of the City of Signal Hill, California, to Green Giant Landscape, Inc. that was the company thereon for doing the following work, to wit:
DEMOLITION AND IMPROVEMENT FOR THE 1905/1907 21ST STREET AND RESTROOM REMOVAL IMPROVEMENT (PROJECT NO. 90.21008) IN THE CITY OF SIGNAL HILL, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACT ENTERED INTO BETWEEN GREEN GIANT LANDSCAPE, INC. AND THE CITY OF SIGNAL HILL That said work, located on real property owned by the City of Signal Hill, was completed on June 13, 2022 by said company according to record drawings and standard specifications for public works construction and to the satisfaction of the City Council of the City of Signal Hill, and that said work was accepted by the City Council of the City of Signal Hill at a regular meeting held on the 26th day of July, 2022, by Resolution No. 2022-07-6700.
