RESOLUTION NO. 2023-06-6741
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SIGNAL HILL, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE CITY OF SIGNAL HILL LOCAL ROADWAY SAFETY PLAN WHEREAS, a Local Roadway Safety Plan (LRSP) provides a framework for organizing stakeholders to identify, and prioritize roadway safety improvements on local roads; and WHEREAS, the LRSP will promote safety for all roadway users in the City of Signal Hill; and WHEREAS, an LRSP will be required for an agency to be eligible to apply for federal High Safety Improvement Program (HSIP), Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant, and other applicable grants; and WHEREAS, the City practices all aspects of Vision Zero by engaging and working with all stakeholders to eliminate traffic fatalities and severe injuries; and WHEREAS, the City is desirous of applying for and receiving grants that will fund projects that will improve safety at intersection and street segments identified in the LRSP; and NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Signal Hill, California, does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Signal Hill does hereby approve the City of Signal Hill Local Roadway Safety Plan.
Section 2. The City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of Signal Hill all necessary documents to implement and carry out the purpose of this resolution.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Signal Hill, California, on this 13th day of June 2023.
