Dear Mr. Tomaino:
INVITATION TO CONTINUE PARTICIPATING IN THE
LOS ANGELES URBAN COUNTY
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
FISCAL YEARS 2024-2026 (JULY 1, 2024 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2027) In order to participate in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, the County of Los Angeles (“County”), by and through its agent, the Los Angeles County Development Authority (“LACDA”), must requalify with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”) every three (3) years to obtain entitlement status as an urban county. The County is in the process of submitting its documentation to qualify for this designation. The new three-year period will begin on July 1, 2024 and end on June 30, 2027.
Enclosed is the “Elect to Participate or Decline in the 2024-2026 Los Angeles Urban County Program” form for you to complete and remit to LACDA by emailing [email protected] on or before May 25, 2023. Those electing to participate in our Los Angeles Urban County CDBG Program (“Program”) will be provided with further instructions regarding the execution of an amendment to the cooperation agreement and the submittal of your city council resolution.
As an advanced notice, the LACDA will utilize its Grants Management System (GM System) to streamline the process of reviewing, electronically signing, and submitting the amendment to the cooperation agreement, and uploading the city’s resolution. All participating cities must sign an amendment to the cooperation agreement and submit it through the GM System on or before June 30, 2023.
