Re – EDCO Addendum to the Environmental Impact Report (SCH #2008081009) and Conditional Use Permit 99-01
As we understand the City of Signal Hill will soon be making a final determination, our company strongly supports EDCO Recycling &Transfer permanently adjusting its tonnage capacity from 1,500 tons per day to 2,500 tons per day.
We have been immediate neighbors to the facility on 28th Street in Signal Hill for several years and our family has also owned numerous properties in the surrounding area for decades. Over that time, EDCO has always been a good neighbor, a strongsupporter of the community and is very conscientious about all of their operations.
In addition, EDCO has been operating at this level under Emergency Waivers for the majority of time since 2020 without any issues. The facility has clearly demonstrated they can safely handle the volume and with a 24 hour operation, EDCO is always available to respond to any unforeseen issues.
For these reasons, we support the project and thank you for your consideration of this information.
