My name is Sasha Kanno and I am the founder of Farm Lot 59. We are located at 2714 California Avenue in Long Beach across the street from EDCO Recycling and Transfer.
We are aware that EDCO has been operating at higher tonnage levels of 2,500 tons per day on and off since 2020 and is in the process of securing approvals to permanently remain at this level. We understand that the City of Signal Hill Planning Commission and City Council will be evaluating an Addendum to the Environmental Impact Report (SCH #2008081009) and Conditional Use Permit 99-01 that allows for this.
I support EDCO’s tonnage adjustment as I have not noticed a change in impact. I believe they manage their facility well, are an amazing neighbor to our farm and have always been very accessible and engaged in the community. We have been farming here since 2010 and have only nice things to say about EDCO.
