Under State law, all local agencies are required to adopt a conflict of interest code. A conflict of interest code tells public officials, governmental employees, and consultants what financial interests they must disclose on their Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700). In 1992, the City adopted the Fair Political Practices Commission Conflict of Interest Code by reference. City staff review the City’s Conflict of Interest Code annually to determine if changes are needed.

At its June 11, 2024, meeting, the City Council approved the new classifications of Deputy Director of Parks, Recreation and Library Services and Assistant City Clerk. The City added the new classifications to the Citywide pay schedule, and the Personnel Summary as part of the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2024-25.

Analysis:

To ensure accuracy of the City’s Conflict of Interest Code, the list of designated employees is proposed to be updated as follows:
· Addition
o Deputy Director of Parks, Recreation and Library Services · Title Update
o Senior Deputy City Clerk updated to Assistant City Clerk If approved, the attached Resolution authorizes the revisions to the City’s Conflict of Interest Code to include the addition and title update referenced above (Attachment A).
