HiI am a longtime local resident writing in because I am hoping to get clarification from Signal Hill Leadership on what they are doing to support and protect our vulnerable community members during the ICE raids that are currently plaguing our communities.
Measures that could be helpful include:
Establishing publicly enforced No-ICE Zones on city and private property.
Creating an ICE Raid Tracking and Accountability System.
Expanding legal and hardship support funds for victims and families, including those transferred to out-of-state detention centers.
Enacting a non-collaboration policy preventing local police or city security from assisting ICE.
Launching a “Plate Watch” hotline modeled after Illinois’ new program to report unmarked or tampered enforcement vehicles.
