RESOLUTION NO. 2026-07-6954
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SIGNAL HILL, CALIFORNIA APPROVING THE CLOSURE
OF THE CITY’S COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT SENIOR FOOD DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM FOR
FISCAL YEARS 2025-2026 AND 2026-2027
WHEREAS, on August 22, 1974, the President of the United States signed into law the Housing and Community Act of 1974 (Act); and WHEREAS, the primary goals of Title I of the Act are the development of viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of lowand moderate-income; and WHEREAS, for the past 51 years the City of Signal Hill (City) has participated in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program which was established under the Act; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to amend their Fiscal Years 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 rosters to close their Senior Food Distribution Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SIGNAL HILL AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council approves closing their Fiscal Years 2025- 2026 and 2026-2027 Senior Food Distribution Program.
Section 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager, or designee, to execute all necessary contracts and agreements with the Los Angeles County Development Authority, together with any changes therein which may be approved by the City Manager.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Signal Hill, California, on this 28th day of July, 2026.
