This email is in regards to the project slated (planned development) for 2196 Tapo Street, Simi Valley.
I completely object to the four-story mixed-use development of 280 apartment units and affordable housing. I live on the other side of that brick wall, and very much enjoy seeing the sunsets at night.
The building will completely obliterate that view, we already have limited views.
I also do not believe that there will be no significant adverse effect on the environment. What a joke!
We are always in a water crisis, energy crisis, traffic crisis. STOP BUILDING MORE HOMES! The traffic is getting to be just like the valley, and you are taking every square Inch of everywhere and building these ugly housing structures. There is an impact to my quality of living in simi which has been steadily degrading with all the homes being build in the hills, and behind shopping centers, and in a small field between churches and other neighborhoods. AND, you will be bringing in more crime due to the affordable housing.
To me it is common sense, STOP BUILDING HOMES PERIOD.
Thank you,

Dear Mr. Chen:
Attached is my January 25, 2022 letter to the members of the Simi Valley Affordable Housing Subcommittee for
Agenda Item No. 6a(Review a request from Santa Susana
GRF2, LLC to enter into an Affordable Housing Agreement).
Thank you.

Re: Agenda Item No. 6a(Review of a request from Santa
Susana GRP2, LLC to enter into an Affordable Housing
Agreement to develop a 280-unit residential apartment
complex with 14 affordable units, located at 2196 Tapo
Street) .
Dear Members of the Subcommittee:
I am opposed to the Affordable Housing Agreement, and
this project for the following reasons:
#1 - There are not enough affordable housing units I I
have heard comments from the City Coxincil dais
about the number of people who cannot afford to
rent in, buy a home in, or even live in Simi Valley
because the City does not have enough businesses
around town that pay higher wages! At your
March 2, 2020 meeting, according to the Draft
Minutes, the AHA request for the Arviv Condominiums
located at 1392 and 1408 Patricia Avenue provided
25 multi-family for sale units, with three units
designated for moderate-income households! The
GRF2 development is providing 280 units, with 14
affordable units! Using the Arviv example: a 280
unit project should be providing about 33 units!
#2 - The project was not agendized before Neighborhood
Council #3 since this project is located along
Tapo Street, and NC #3's dividing line is along
this roadway(ll-l-2020. Neighborhood Councils
Map, City's Website) !
#3 - Drivers along Tapo Street will be greeted by the
project's extremely tall development wall due to
its close proximity to the roadway! At a time
14 when people(children and adults) have been pushed
onto streets while walking, and railroad tracks
while waiting on train platforms, public health,
safety, and wellbeing must be first and foremost
with City projects! Your DRAFT MEETING MINUTES
for the March 2, 2020 meeting indicates that the
Subcommittee did not meet for almost 2 years!!! !l
1 do not foresee the violent thinking of people
dying out anytime soon; it might get worse!!!!!
#4 - This is a 4 stories development project!
#5 - The color exhibit titled "VIEW FROM TAPO LOOKING
SOUTH" which shows only one lane each way for the
traffic flow is problamatic since Tapo Street has
2 lanes each way; a total of four(Staff Report)!
#6 - Parking requirements will be reduced!

15 Members of the Subcommittee, somewhere on your Agendas, or the City's website, an email for members of the pviblic to submit comments regarding topics in your Agendas or
within your jurisdiction must be noted!!1!! While Omicron according to some people is slowing down, may be the end of COVID-19 pandemic, etc., that may not be the case this time either! I would like to be hopeful, but I am not foolish! All of the City Council's constituents must be given the opportunity to address any Board, Committee, Commission in the manner that works for them!! !!! Thank you.
Sincerely,
Teresa Jordan
