The Review Committee is comprised of seven representatives including one from each of the four Neighborhood Councils, the Youth Council, the Council On Aging, and the Community at-Large. The Review Committee makes recommendations to the City Council on Waste Management’s annual allo cation of $150,000 to the City’s C ommunity Projects Grant P rogram, which provides funding to local non-profit organizations serving Simi Valley. The application window to submit project grant applicat

FINDINGS AND ALTERNATIVES
Each of the City’s advisory boards nominated representatives to serve on the Review Committee at their regular meetings in March 2022. T he original representative nominated by the Council On Aging (COA) withdrew his acceptance of the nomination after the March meeting, resulting in t he COA needing to nominate a replacement. The COA has agendized the nomination of Marietta Sperry, wh o was a runner -up for the position during the March discussion. The COA will be voting on the nomination at its April 11, 2022, meeting. Should there be a need to modify the COA’s nomination following the formal action taken at the meeting, staff will provide a Supplemental Staff Report.* The recruitm ent for the Community at -Large representative commenced on March 2, 2022, and concluded on March 15, 2022. I am interested in serving on this committee because I'm interested in the well being of Simi Valley residents. I also want to support the review process of providing critical investments to local nonprofit organizations so they can better serve their clients and expand their services.
The review and recommendation process will require two to three public meetings during the months of April and May. The first meeting is scheduled for April 26, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. and the second meeting will be on May 10, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the Simi Valley Public Library, Community Room, located at 2969 Tapo Canyon Road. Both meetings will range from two to three hours in length. *10a. Do you have any concerns with being able to attend the above referenced meetings? No
CPG Review Committee - At-Large Member Application (Page 3) I worked in the nonprofit sector for close to ten years and have extensive experience with grant writing and development. I am currently a consultant and work with nonprofits in Los Angeles County and have one client in Oxnard. I also want to note that I don't have any conflicts of interest as I don't work with any organizations in Simi Valley or have involvement with funders or funding decisions. *
