PARATRANSIT ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBERS
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council approve, and the Mayor appoint, the applicants nominated to serve on the ADA Paratransit Advisory Committee for terms commencing on May 1, 2022, and expiring on April 30, 2024.
BACKGROUND AND OVERVIEW
The ADA Paratransit Plan, approved by the City Council on February 24, 1992, provided for the establishment of an ADA Paratransit Advisory Committee to review public transportation issues affecti ng individuals with disabilities. The Committee consists of five member s and two alternate positions. As of April 30, 2022, four member positions and one alternate position became vacant. A recruitment to fill the vacant positions w as init iated on February 11, 20 22, and closed on February 25, 2022.
FINDINGS AND ALTERNATIVES
A total of six applications were received for the vacanci es. On May 03, 20 22, Mayor Mashburn and Council Member Luevanos interviewed the si x eligible applicants and nominated the individual s below for appointment. The t erm will commence upon appointment and ex pire on April 30, 2024. Ms. Lauro and Ms. Lewis are currently serving as me mbers and Ms. McCann is cur rently serving as an alternate. The application of each nominee is included (Attachment A, page 3).

The following alternatives are available to the City Council:
1. Approve, and the Mayor appoint , the five applicants nominated to the ADA Paratransit Advisory Committee; for terms commencing on May 1, 2022, and expiring on April 30, 2024;
2. P rovide staff with alternative direction.
Staff recommends Alternative No. 1.

SUMMARY
As of April 30, 2022, four member positions and one alternate position became vacant on the ADA Paratransit Advisory Committee. On May 03, 20 22, Mayor Mashburn and Council Member Luevanos interviewed six candidates, and have nominated f our members and one alternate for appointment to the ADA Paratransit Advisory Committee.
It is recommended that the City Council approve, and the Mayor appoint, the applicants nominated to the ADA Paratransit Advisory Committee.
