TRUSTEES, AND ADOPTION OF A RESOLUTION
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
It
is recommended that the Simi Valley Library Board of Trustees adopt the attached Resolution No. 2022-41 (page 3) reappointing Board President Mashburn and President Pro Tem Litster to serve on the Simi Valley Library Board of Trustees for additional three- year terms through June 30, 2025.
BACKGROUND AND OVERVIEW
On
April 9, 2012, the Simi Valley Library Board of Trustees (Board) adopted Resolution PL-01, which set the initial terms of office of the Board. Each Trustee holds office for three years as provided for in Ordinance No. 1182, Section 2, and pursuant to California Education Code Section 18911. Additionally, Resolution No.
PL-02, Section 2, specifies that th e Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem, and City Council Members shall act as the Board President, President Pro Tem, and Board Members, respectively. Trustees are appointed upon completion of their three -year term or upon assuming an office vacated by a Council Member or Mayor.

d President Mashburn and President Pro Tem Litster both have terms ending June 30, 2022. No other Board positions expire this year.
FINDINGS AND ALTERNATIVES
As P
resident Mashburn and President Pro Tem Litster’s term s of service on the Board are due to expire on June 30, 2022, it is recommended that the Board adopt the attached resolution reappoint ing both positions to additional three-year terms beginning July 1, 2022, and ending June 30, 2025.

SUMMARY
On April 9, 2012, the Simi Valley Library Board of Trustees adopted Resolution PL-01, which set the initial terms of office for the Simi Valley Library Board of Trustees. Each trustee shall hold office for three years. Board President Mashburn and Presid ent Pro Tem Litster were last appointed to the Board for term s beginning on July 1, 2019, and ending June 30, 2022. A RESOLUTION OF THE SIMI VALLEY LIBRARY BOARD
OF TRUSTEES REAPPOINTING BOARD PRESIDENT
MASHBURN AND PRESIDENT PRO TEM LITSTER TO THE
SIMI VALLEY LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
WHEREAS, on March 26, 2012, the Mayor, with the consent of the City Council, appointed himself and the members of the City Council as the Simi Valley Library Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, Board President Mashburn and President Pro Tem Litster were last appointed to the Board for terms that expire on June 30, 2022.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE SIMI VALLEY LIBRARY BOARD OF
TRUSTEES DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1
. Board President Mashburn and President Pro Tem Litster are reappointed to the Simi Valley Library Board of Trustees to a three- year term beginning on July 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2025.
SECTION 2. This resolution will take effect immediately upon adoption.
SECTION 3 . The Board Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause a certified resolution to be filed in the Office of the Board Secretary.
