EXPENDITURE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR (FY) 2022-23

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council accept Highway Infrastructure Program Grant Funds from the California Department Of Transportation (Caltrans) and approve a Supplemental Budget Request to adjust Fund 600, Streets and Roads Fund , and the Major Street Rehabilitation Program Expend iture Budget For Fiscal Year (FY) 2022-23; and add $1,300,000 to the Major Streets Rehabilitation Program Budget for FY 2022-23.

BACKGROUND AND OVERVIEW
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) approved a Highway Infrastructure Program (HIP) grant to the City in the amount of $1,300,000 for the rehabilitation of Madera Road from Strathearn Place to Royal Avenue. This project was completed earlier this fiscal year.

On August 22, 2022 , the City Council adopted R esolution No. 2022-49 approving Program Supplement No. F051 to the Master Agreement so that the City can receive these Federal funds.

FINDINGS AND ALTERNATIVES
A Master Agreement is in place with the State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), which enables the City to receive Federal funds under the Federal Aid Program. For each specific project, the City must enter into a Supplemental Agreement with Caltrans to receive the funds under this Master Agreement, and adopt a resolution approving the Supplemental Agreement. The amount of $1,300,000 has been approved for this project. This final step will authorize the acceptance of the grant fund and the deposit of the funds to Fund 600, programming the funds for the Major Streets Rehabilitation Program.
