It's been really difficult to find a Van, but we finally did. Originally we asked if we can shift some funds to use for more equipment, but had to reallocate it back to the van because we couldn't find one within our budget. We found and purchased a 2019 Dodge Ram Promaster 1500.

We have been working with car dealerships from Simi Valley, throughout Ventura County and beyond.

Typically we have been finding that a new vehicle from the factory is about an 18 month process. We thought we had a vehicle confirmed that we were planning on purchasing this past quarter, however, it fell through, unfortunately. The good news is that we have found a vehicle that will meet our needs (and is about 22 years newer than the one we have), and are planning on purchasing it next week. This being said, it will be reported on our next report.

In partnership with the City of Simi Valley, Many Mansions continues to expand opportunities for formerly homeless residents. Since July 2022, the Supportive Services program has reached 32 households to serve 39 adults and 10 children at our La Rahada, Casa de Paz, and Peppertree locations.

This quarter, Case Managers and Residential Services staff hosted a total of 26 life skills workshops and community building events (totaling 58 over Q1-Q3), with attendance reaching 168 (many residents participate in multiple activities). Highlights included setting intentions for positive change in the New Year, giving back though bowl painting (in preparation for Many Mansions' annual Bowls of Hope event), and a fun and interactive workshop focused on healthy living. Modeled on "The Price is Right", participants guessed the prices of cleaning supplies and those closest to the actual price were able to keep the item. The game was coupled with a discussion on how to use the products to maintain a clean environment.

In addition, our partnering agency, Community Action of Ventura County, hosted a wellness workshop. The organization also engaged residents in a focus group to learn about the needs of low income and formerly homeless individuals in our community. Finally, residents in our Supportive Services program participated in Many Mansions' Resident Council, providing valuable feedback on programming and services and building community engagement. As usual, staff continued to promote community integration through ongoing Coffee Socials, holiday activities, and property celebrations.

We are pleased to report strong achievement of programs goals in Simi Valley. This quarter, 97% of Supportive Services residents retained permanent housing, 88% paid their rent on time, 90% increased life skills, and 95% had increase in income.

Grant #5
Every year our application process is from August 1st to November 15th. We work with local adult schools to ensure the counselors who help and support women in financial need are aware of the grant program. Once the portal for the applications is closed on November 15th, we commence with the judging process. Judging timelines are from November 16th to January 31st. Once applicants have been vetted through our process, interviews are conducted to answer any questions and assess their financial need. From here, our judges decide on dollar amounts being granted to each individual applicant. This year we had a total of 7 applicants from Simi Valley, 5 of which were eligible applicants. With the funds we recieved, we were able to fund 5 grants.
