Neighborhood Council Executive Board members are appointed to staggered two- year terms, with approximately one third of the seats expiring every eight months.
The next term of appointments is scheduled to commence on November 1, 2023.

FINDINGS AND ALTERNATIVES
It is recommended that the City Council select two subcommittees, each comprised of two City Council members, to interview and nominate prospective Neighborhood Council Executive Board members. The Brown Act (Government Code Section 54950, et seq.) provides that advisory committees composed solely of less than a quorum of City Council that meet for a limited duration and specified scope, are not legislative bodies. The interviews and nominations conducted by each subcommittee will be facilitated independently of each other, and presented to th e City Council for consideration in compliance with the Brown Act.
In January 2023, Mayor Thomas and Mayor Pro Tem Judge interviewed and nominated prospective Executive Board members for Neighborhood Councils #1 and #3 for the term that began on March 1, 202 3 and will end on February 28, 2025 . In February 2023,Council Member Litster and Council Member Rhodes interviewed and nominated
