PARTICIPATE IN THE VENTURA COUNTY FILM COMMISSION
ROUNDTABLE
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council select up to two City Council Members to participate in the Ventura County Film Commission Roundtable (VCFC).
BACKGROUND AND OVERVIEW
On May 29, 2025, the VCFC, in partnership with the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce, is hosting a film roundtable discussion at 99.1 The Ranch, located inside the Simi Valley Town Center. The City and local studio owners, entertainment industry members, and other stakeholders were invited to the roundtable discussion, which Bill Bartels from the VCFC will lead. The Chamber's initial invitation included the Mayor and all Council Members. However, to avoid a potential City Council quorum at the roundtable, staff is seeking the City Council to designate up to two representatives to participate in the discussion.
FINDINGS AND ALTERNATIVES
The following alternatives are available to the City Council:
1. Select up to two City Council Members to participate in the Ventura County Film Commission Roundtable;
2. Provide staff with other direction.
