PARATRANSIT ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBERS
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council approve, and the Mayor appoint, the applicants nominated to serve on the ADA Paratransit Advisory Committee for a term commencing on June 1, 2025, and expiring on May 31, 2027.
BACKGROUND AND OVERVIEW
The ADA Paratransit Plan, approved by the City Council on February 24, 1992, provided for the establishment of an ADA Paratransit Advisory Committee to review public transportation issues affecting individuals with disabilities. The Committee consists of five members and two alternate positions. As of April 30, 2025, one-member position and one alternate position became vacant. A recruitment to fill the vacant positions w as initiated on February 3, 2025, and closed on February 28, 2025.
FINDINGS AND ALTERNATIVES
A total of two applications were received for the vacanc ies. On May 13, 2025, Council Member Elaine Litster and Council Member Joseph Ayala conducted interviews and nominated the following individuals for appointment. The term will commence on June 1, 2025, and expire on May 31, 20 27. The application of each nominee is included (Attachment A, page 3).
