t is recommended that the Simi Valley Library Board of Trustees adopt Resolution No.
PL-39 reappointing Board President Cavanaugh and Trustee Rhodes to serve on the Board for additional three-year terms through June 30, 2029.

O
n April 9, 2012, the Simi Valley Library Board of Trustees (Board) adopted Resolution No. PL-01, establishing the initial terms of office of the Board. Pursuant to Ordinance No. 1182, Section 2, and pursuant to California Education Code Section 18911, each Trustee holds office for three years. Additionally, Resolution No. PL-02, Section 2, specifies that the Mayor shall serve as Board President, the Mayor Pro Tem as President Pro Tem, and the City Council Members as Board Members. Trustees are appointed upon completion of their t hree-year term or upon assuming an office vacated by a Council Member or Mayor.

s President Cavanaugh and Trustee Rhodes’ terms of service on the Board are due to expire on June 30, 2026, it is recommended that the Board adopt the attached resolution reappointing both positions to additional three- year terms beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2029. No other Board positions expire this year.

I move to adopt Resolution No. PL -39 reappointing Board Pres ident Cavanaugh and Trustee Rhodes to serve on the Simi Valley Library Board of Trustees for additional terms beginning July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029.
Summary
On April 9, 2012, the Simi Valley Library Board of Trustees adopted Resolution No. PL- 01, established the initial terms of office of the Board. Each Trustee serves a three-year term and is reappointed upon expiration of the term or upon assuming an office vacated by a Council Member or Mayor. Therefore, it is recommended that the Board adopt the resolution reappointing Board President Cavanaugh and Trustee Rhodes to serve on the Simi Valley Library Board of Trustees for additional terms beginning July 1, 2026, through J
une 30, 2029.

A RESOLUTION OF THE SIMI VALLEY LIBRARY BOARD
OF TRUSTEES REAPPOINTING BOARD PRESIDENT
CAVANAUGH AND TRUSTEE RHODES TO THE SIMI
VALLEY LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
WHEREAS, on March 26, 2012, the Mayor, with the consent of the City Council, appointed himself and the members of the City Council as the Simi Valley Library Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, Board President Cavanaugh and Trustee Rhodes were last appointed to the Board for terms that expire on June 30, 2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE SIMI VALLEY LIBRARY BOARD OF
TRUSTEES DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 . Board President Cavanaugh and Trustee Rhodes are reappointed to the Simi Valley Library Board of Trustees to a three- year term beginning on July 1, 2026, and ending on June 30, 2029.
SECTION 2. This resolution will take effect immediately upon adoption.
SECTION 3 . The Board Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause a certified resolution to be filed in the Office of the Board Secretary.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 8th day of June 2026.
