Staff implemented a comprehensive STEM and Workforce Development framework designed to strengthen academic proficiency, critical thinking, and career readiness. Seventy-nine Club members particpated in math enrichment four days a week, utilizing strategic, standards-aligned math games to improve math proficiency, reasoning and problem-solving skills. The result of this objective was that there was an average increase in grade-level of 1.3 years.
Members also expanded their knowledge in STEM through engaging in a variety of hands-on STEM projects that connected scientific concepts to real-world applications.
Workforce development was a central focus for our older members. Thirty members participated in career exploration field trips learning about a varity of careers this quarter when they visited WM and the Simi Valley Police Department. They also toured Moorpark College campus, learning about college life, and explored the educational opportunities available after high school.

The support group funded by this grant served 8-12 residents on a weekly basis. It welcomed some new participants this year! This group was started in February, 2025 and has continued.
Our weekly "All Cancers" Support Group was facilitated by our licensed clinician. This quarter's grant expenses were used for our group facilitator's salary for this Simi Valley group only, the space rental, our outreach coordinator's mileage (Simi Valley only) and some supportive staff time.

*Total program expenditures came in $8.45 over the grant award; the difference was covered by GiGi's Playhouse Simi Valley to ensure the program could be fully resourced through the end of the spring session.
During the fourth and final quarter of the grant period, GiGi's Playhouse Simi Valley completed its Spring 2026 session of GiGi's Kitchen, delivering 113.64 hours of programming across all three age tracks:
children, teens, and adults. 47 individuals were served. Grant funds this quarter supported fresh groceries for ongoing classes, along with kitchen equipment and supplies needed to round out the program's infrastructure for
long-term, sustainable use.
Throughout the session, participants continued building both fine and gross motor skills through hands-on food preparation, while developing independent living skills, basic nutrition knowledge, and math concepts through measuring and recipe work. Beyond the kitchen skills themselves, the program created meaningful opportunities for social connection, as participants and volunteers shared the meals they prepared together and practiced teamwork and conversation in a supportive, inclusive environment.

As of June 2026, all remaining HVAC units were installed at Casa De Paz and La Rahada.
In alignment with the grant agreement, a total of 21 HVAC units have been installed with this funding, benefiting 23 Simi residents including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and youth. As the unit costs were less than anticipated, remaining funds were allocated towards maintenence staff salaries, who performed the installation at all sites.
Community members have shared their appreciation for the new systems and are especially grateful to have reliable cooling during the summer heat wave. Access to safe, efficient heating and cooling improves comfort, health, and overall well-being while helping residents maintain stable housing. Many Mansions is deeply grateful for the City’s partnership and investment in this project. This funding has made a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable Simi Valley, supporting their ability to remain well and thriving.
