Sales Tax Measure U
Measure U will help fund community prioritized City services such as completing deferred maintenance of streets, roads, sidewalks, fixing potholes and city facilities, preventing fires by removing brush and other flammable fuels, maintaining 911 emergency response and neighborhood police patrols and maintaining senior and adult and youth recreation programs.

Sales Tax Measure U
Measure U will continue to give Solvang local control over local funds for local needs. No funds can be taken by Sacramento.

Measure U requires an independent citizens' oversight committee, financial audits and yearly reports to the community to ensure that all funds are spent as promised.

Sales Tax Measure U
As 2/3rds of Solvang's sales tax is paid by out-of-town visitors and tourists, if enacted Measure U ensures they pay their share for utilizing our City services.

Groceries and prescription medications are exempt from Measure U so it is not a burden on seniors or low-income residents.
