Motion carried 4-0-1 with Vice Mayor Gurney, Council Member Wellander, Council Member Ding, and Mayor Lowe voting YES and Council Member Farrar-Rivas absent.

Laurie Gallian, Stephanie Fine, Gil Latimer, and David Eichar provided public comments.

2. MEETING DEDICATIONS
Council Member Ding dedicated the meeting to both Paul Day and Eriz Mcvey. Mayor Lowe dedicated the meeting to Mario Alioto.

3. COUNCILMEMBERS’ REPORTS AND COMMENTS
Council Member Ding attended the Sonoma Valley Groundwater Agency, which was the first in—person meeting held since COVID-19. Fortunately, the groundwater levels locally are looking much healthier after the recent rainfalls. The group started working on budget preparation for the 2023-24 fiscal year.

Council Member Ding also attended a Sonoma County Continuum of Care meeting.

Council Member Wellander attended a Water Advisory Committee meeting where they reminded individuals that there will be a modest increase in water costs soon based on volumes.

Vice Mayor Gurney attended a three-day Planning Commissioner Academy in Southern California, along with Council Member Farrar—Rivas, which he found very informative and beneficial.

During the past two weeks, Mayor Lowe participated in several events such as the Sonoma Valley Film Festival, Alcalde Reception, and Treasure Artist Reception. Additionally, as discussed at the March 15, 2023, Council meeting, Mayor Lowe wrote a letter to Assembly Member Aguiar-Curry, expressing the City’s apprehensions about losing the option to conduct all meetings remotely in the future.

4. CITY MANAGER COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Interim City Manager Linder provided an update on pedestrian safety on Broadway. While in the initial stages of drilling holes to place equipment for the pedestrian lighting equipment, Public Works ran into two issues. The holes which were drilled were filled with rain due to the recent heavy rainfalls. The City willneed to wait until the rain dries up before continuing work. Secondly, they ran into a conduit, which is owned by Comcast, which will need to be relocated before any future work is completed. The City anticipates having the pedestrian lighting equipment installed and operational by July 2023.

5. CITY ATTORNEY COMMENTS
None.
