CALL TO ORDER Maria del Pilar Avalos, Mayor called a Special City Council Meeting to order at 5:23 p.m.

PRESENT Mayor Maria del Pilar Avalos, Vice Mayor Gil Hurtado, Council Member Joshua Barron, and Council Member Al Rios; City Treasurer Jose De La Paz, City Manager Chris Jeffers, Special Counsel Craig Hardwick ABSENT/EXCUSED Council Member Maria Davila and City Attorney Raul F. Salinas CLOSED SESSION The Council Members recessed into Closed Session at 5:25 p.m. and reconvened at 6:29 p.m. with (4) four Members of Council present.
Special Counsel Hardwick reported the following:
1. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL — PENDING
LITIGATION
Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(c)
a. Discussion of whether to initiate litigation or enter into settlement agreement related to a construction dispute.
On item 1, the City Council approved entering into a settlement agreement with Aid Builders, Inc., to resolve this dispute arising from a 2018 construction contract on a motion made by Mayor Avalos and seconded by Vice Mayor Hurtado. The vote was 3-1.
2. CONSIDER THE EVALUATION OF PERFORMANCE OF A
PUBLIC EMPLOYEE
Pursuant to Government Code Section 54957(b)(1)

On item 2(a), there was no reportable action taken.

ADJOURNMENT Vice Mayor Hurtado adjourned the meeting at 6:32 p.m. and seconded by Council Member Rios.
