CALL TO ORDER Maria del Pilar Avalos, Mayor called a Special City Council Meeting to order at 5:53 p.m.

PRESENT Mayor Maria del Pilar Avalos, Council Member Joshua Barron, Council Member Maria Davila and Council Member Al Rios; City Treasurer Jose De La Paz, City Manager Chris Jeffers, City Attorney Raul F. Salinas LATE Vice Mayor Gil Hurtado arrived at the dais at 6:21 p.m.

1 CERTIFICATES On behalf of the City Council, Mayor Avalos:
a. Presented Certificates of Appreciation to the outgoing Miss Azaleita Court 2019 in recognition of their dedicated service to the community; and
b. Introduced the incoming Miss Azaleita Court 2023 and present each of them with a City Centennial pin.
PERSONNEL RECRU}TME'NT
& SELECTION The City Council received and filed the list of new and promoted full-time employees hired or promoted during October 2023.
3 CERTIFICATES The City Council presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Ricardo Soltero recognizing his talent and contribution in Mexican Folk Art. 4 CERTIFICATES The City Council presented a Certificate of Appreciation to FHC Frameless Hardware Company acknowledging contribution of business being brought into the City of South Gate.
5 CERTIFICATES The City Council presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Glasswerks acknowledging and celebrating 43rd Anniversary in business in South Gate and commending contribution of business being brought into the City of South Gate.
