CALL TO ORDER Maria Davila, Mayor called a Special City Council Meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
ROLL CALL Yodit Glaze, City Clerk
PRESENT Mayor Maria Davila, Vice Mayor Joshua Barron, Council Member Gil Hurtado and Council Member Al Rios; City Treasurer Jose De La Paz, City Manager Rob Houston, Special Counsel Jerry Ruiz ABSENT/EXCUSED Council Member Maria del Pilar Avalos, City Attorney Rail F. Salinas 1 CERTIFICATES The City Council presented Certificates of Appreciation to the Aztecs AU Cheer for winning Ist Place at the 2025 JAMZ Youth National Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada and South Gate Aztecs 6U Flag Football for winning the 2024 AAU Division 2 Super Bowl Championships in San Bernardino, CA.
2 CERTIFICATES The City Council presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Jovanna Laborin in recognition of her service as Planning Commissioner and longtime community volunteer.
3 PF,RSONNEL RECRUITMENT
& SELECTION The City Council received and filed the list of new and promoted full-time employees hired or promoted during February 2025.
RECESS At this time, 5:58 p.m., Mayor Davila stated that the special meeting be recessed in order that the Council might hold its 5:35 p.m. Housing Authority meeting. The special meeting reconvened at 6:10 p.m. with four (4) Council present.
SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES OF MARCH 25, 2025 CLOSED SESSION The Council Members recessed into Closed Session at 6:11 p.m. and reconvened at 6:39 p.m. with four (4) Members of Council present.
