CALL TO ORDER Maria Davila, Mayor called a Special City Council Meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

PRESENT Mayor Maria Davila, Vice Mayor Joshua Barron, Council Member Maria del Pilar Avalos, Council Member Gil Hurtado and Council Member Al Rios; City Treasurer Jose De La Paz, City Manager Rob Houston, City Attorney Raul F. Salinas
CLOSED SESSION The Council Members recessed into Closed Session at 5:45 p.m. and reconvened at 6:57 p.m. with All Members of Council present City Attorney Salinas reported the following:
1. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COtJNSEL - PENDING
LITIGATION
Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(a),
54954.9(b)(3)(C)
a. Jade Tran v. City of South Gate, et al.
Item I(a) has to do with the storing of a vehicle after Miss Tran was arrested for an outstanding warrant. There's a claim made over damage caused as a result of the storing of that vehicle. On a motion made by Council Member Avalos and seconded by Council Member Hurtado, and on a vote of 5-0, the City Council authorized the defense of that by the City Attorney.
2. CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATOR
Pursuant to Governrnent Code Section 54957.6
Agency Representation: Rob Houston, City Manager
Unrepresented Employees: Top Management/ Department Directors/Hourly Employees
Employee Organizations: SGMEA, SGPMMA, SGDMA,
SGPMA, SGPOA
On item 2, the City Council received a presentation by the City Manager involving each of the five employee organizations. Upon completion of that presentation, guidance was given, but there's no reportable action taken.
