Hello,
My name is Saul Zevada and I have been active with the ECE4ALLSSF campaign and helped gather signatures over the past several months.
The issue of redirecting public dollars to critical human services, with the goal of establishing a sustainable and just future, is a fundamental personal priority for me, and should be a fundamental priority for all bodies of government, as the constituents they represent are dependent on healthy and human policy positions.
We cannot continue to accept a city or society that continues to prioritize funding, or supplementing, corporate greed and profit driven initiatives and plans. That privatized, competitive and unjust version of society only exacerbates inequalities; as this benefits the few, while perpetually selling out the many in favor of market based, profit driven lenses. Our children absolutely have to be our priority. Those who serve our children have to be our priority. All elements of a system that feed our collective healthy future have to be our priority.
I appreciate that this tax measure obligates the largest and wealthiest commercial properties in the city to pay for these services, and invest in people and education in the communities where they make their wealth.
The well-being of the people and children in South San Francisco are the highest mandate of this governing body. Protecting profit and exacerbating economic exploitation of the working class must end.
Please acknowledge the vision, work and commitment of the community, educators, and activists that have brought this ballot measure forward and please give us your support, in the best interest of children and families of South San Francisco.
