I enjoy giving back and being in an active role of our community here in South San Francisco. The Planning Commission is in a unique position to make decisions/recommendations on many upcoming projects that will help shape the future of SSF for many decades to come. I am able to contribute fresh perspectives as a resident and worker in District 5. I have a strong interest in helping SSF modernize for the growing population and demographic while also maintaining our small city charm and preserving our industrial city roots.
What qualifies you for this appointment?
My day job is to analyze data into meaningful insights to help make an informed business decision for management - I strongly believe that skillset is valuable and could be applied in this role for Planning Commission. I represent a new wave of the growing population in SSF where young working professionals and families are moving into the City for an affordable home to grow and employment within the City. I have prior experience from the General Plan Advisory Committee on how commissions/committee operate as well as my experience from the City of Millbrae on how to advise council on reach codes and adopting Climate Action Plan. Currently, I also serve on the Peninsula Clean Energy Citizen Advisory Committee and have strong drive to continue advocating for the electrification of homes while also considering the social, equity, accessibility, and inclusion factors of underrepresented residents.
What is your vision for growth in South San Francisco?
I envision a SSF that is well connected with a bustling local economy while maintaining its small-town charm. A city that is a leader for the county in balancing the needs for preserving our South City roots while continuing to grow and modernize for the future.
Growth in SSF should not compromise the ability for young working professionals and families to grow and thrive in this city. I truly believe in a future where residents are able to live, work, shop, and dine here in SSF and will remain attractive to all out-of-town visitors as well.
What community activities are you presently involved in, or have been in the past?
• Peninsula Clean Energy Citizen Advisory Committee (Presently involved) • SSF General Plan 2040 Community Advisory Committee (Past)
