Why do you want to serve on the Youth Commission? Why do you believe the Youth Commission is important?
I want to serve the Youth Commission for the experience and to be able to learn how to deal with problems in ones community. To have debates about problems in the community with actual legal restrictions about the desisions about the topic that has been discused. I want to be able to learn about how I could balence the time with the work presented and day-to-day life. The Youth Commission is an important because it gives the youths of a community to be able to talk about the problems that they have seen in their community.

The Youth Commission addresses issues affecting youth and the community through making recommendations to City Council. Please explain what you believe is the biggest issue concerning youth in South San Francisco today.
The biggest issue I believe the youth of South San Francisco are facing is that there is not enough informational outreach targeted towards the youth. In other words I feel like there isn't awareness and publicity on opportunities and guidance like, Youth Commission and South San Francisco Police Explorers. I believe that Groups like these really help out young people and help them strive towards future success. South San Francisco Police Explorers is a group that takes young teens(14) to adults(21) and through rigours training courses helps them better themselves. It gives them real world experience and a glimspe of what their future police work would be like. I believ there aren't enough programs that prepare young people for the real world and that the programs that exist, do not have enough advertisment. As part of the Youth Commission I would have the people of those programs to advertise their programs in community events, in school events, and to talk to their targeted groups in our community. I would create fundraising events to create new guidance programs and have the community give ideas for those programs.
