Government Code Section 54957.5 SB 343

Subject: Frivolous 08/28/2024 REG CC
Certainly, you individually and as a group don't care what I or any other SSF resident think. But I LOVE words! Words can do anything for good or evil and together with actions for good or evil can have enormous consequences.

Sharing vocabulary words can help this message make a point.

SQUANDER - waste something (esp. money or time) in a reckless and foolish manner. -RIVOLOUS - not having any serious purpose or value, spending extravagantly, thoughtlessly or wastefully SPENDTHRIFT - person who spends money in an extravagant, irresponsible way PRUDENT PERSON RULE, guideline for making financial decisions using the principles of common sense and reasonable risk.

When I think of the years I have watched City Council meetings usually on television I know it has always been a waste of my time. Yet because I care about SSF and the many residents that call this place home, I watch to stay current on the health and well-being of this City. For years I have seen the decisions made by the City Council and other City management put SSF at risk. You continue to SQUANDER taxpayers' money in FRIVOLOUS ways without acceptable standards for making financial decisions. Ask your attorney colleague about the Prudent Person Rule.

The fact that the City is deeply in debt is your fault.

The residents who want the MSB made available for our purposes don't need an expensive facilitator. The only thing you are doing is giving taxpayers' money away to someone who is NOT invested in the well-being of this City. A big waste of time too since most residents will never have an opportunity to express their opinion.

This will just be a wasteful SHOW AND TELL to make attendees think you care what they think! In my employment career | facilitated many issues with groups of employees. A flip chart, marking pens, 3x5 cards, and Post-its was all I needed to capture the ideas that the audience believed to be important. Anybody can facilitate a meeting, and it doesn't take $40,000 plus to gather information.

Stop squandering residents' time and money on something totally unnecessary! As a management group you are pathetic! You dither and procrastinate and escalate unnecessary frustration among residents to whom you have made commitments.

Read the language again in Measure W.

The City Organization Chart shows that the Citizens of South San Francisco call the shots and "you all" following OUR direction. Somehow your weaselly, conniving ways and imprudent behavior has caused nothing but chaos in this City.

As a longtime citizen and taxpayer of SSF I am telling you NO! NO to a facilitator to hash out ideas about the MSB.

NO to more waste of time because you have created years' long problem and don't want to have to fix it. NO to the endless financial mismanagement that we all know you have caused. NO to your endless SQUANDERING, FRIVOLOUS decisions that do not benefit residents. Time to clean up your acts and do the right thing.

I ask you to think about this,
Claudia Melteff
