SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONNAIRE
Why do you want to serve on the Youth Commission? Why do you believe the Youth Commission is important?
I want to serve on the Youth Commission because it's an avenue to learn about leadership through community service and work. From a very young age, my parents taught me this valuable lesson. To be a good leader, one must know how to listen and to work with others. I want to learn more from my peers about the issues that affect us (the youths of South San Francisco), and through discussions and sharing of experiences, I can be a better community advocate and an objective leader because I am knowledgeable about the "different side or sides" of the issue or issues affecting us (the youths of South San Francisco).

The Youth Commission is important because it allows the participation of youths in the policy and decision-making process of the government on issues and concerns that affect them in their daily lives. By serving in the commission and participating in discussions, youths are trained to question, to offer positive criticism and suggestions, and to ask questions and to think critically by not accepting things as they are (and to always strive to attain and accomplish things as they ought to be).

The Youth Commission addresses issues affecting youth and the community through making recommendations to City Council. Please explain what you believe is the biggest issue concerning youth in South San Francisco today.

Based on my limited knowledge and experience as a new immigrant who arrived in the United States as an 11-year old in late 2019, I can speak about the following as the two biggest issues affecting our youth in our community:
life on the outside." I believe that to see more well-rounded youths, youths who have a better understanding of our global community, youths who are inspired and passionate to dream for bigger things, youths who are better prepared lead in the future, and and youths who can better appreciate what they have in the U.S., South San Francisco can have a program for serving youths to be exposed to life outside the confines of the U.S. Former president Barack Obama spent his young ars and lived in Indonesia for a while. I believe that this is one of the reasons why he is a great lead

2. South San Francisco like Daly City is home to many immigrants and newly-arrived immigrants. During my 7th and 8th grade at Westborough Middle School, I was often requested by my teachers to be a "buddy" or "shadow" to newly-arrived Can you commit to attending 6:30 p.m. meetings on the third Monday of each month? •YES •NO If no, please explain:
