As a nearby neighbor, it's extremely encouraging to finally see something being built on that site. For years, it had been overrun with vegetation and had become a frequent spot for homeless encampments. The new housing development promises to transform the area in a meaningful and lasting way Agenda Item: eComments for 2b 25-452 Resolution making findings and recommending that City Council approve a Planned Development, Zoning Map Amendment, Tentative Parcel Map, Design Review, and Transportation Demand Management Program to construct 70 single-family townhouse units located at 500 Railroad Avenue in the T4 Lindenville (T4L) Zoning District.

I'm glad to see more single-family homes being proposed instead of high-density apartment housing. This is a much-needed step for our community and will help increase housing supply to ease the current shortage.

I would assume this project is intended for for-sale housing rather than rentals, given the significant number of rental developments already in the pipeline and the lack of new ownership housing. There's a clear need for more for-sale housing supply in the downtown area.
